This mouthpiece is thus eminently suited to horses that do not tolerate traditionally shaped bits due to the pressure on the tongue and react by head-shaking and the like. The Kimblewick bit is an effective combination of a lever effect on the branches of the horse‘s lower jaw, pressure on the poll and change of position of the bit inside the horse"s mouth.
