Durch das gekürzte Mittelstück entsteht kein Gaumendruck. Der Winkel des Mittelstücks wurde um 45° gedreht. Beim Anzug des Zügels liegt die Olive somit satt auf der Zunge, ohne zu quetschen. Die Tastempfindlichkeit der Zunge wird durch die neue Lage der seitlichen Gebissteile verstärkt angesprochen. Die Zügelhilfen des Reiters sind so noch präziser.
